About The Roslindale Community School Council, Inc.
The Roslindale Community School Council, Inc. is a community-based non-profit corporation that partners with the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (City of Boston) and other community-based organizations to establish programming and activities in the community. The Council is the fiscal agent for the Roslindale Community Center and Flaherty Swimming Pool, managing funds and channeling them back into programming at those facilities at the local level.
The Council operates on the premises of the Roslindale Community Center, an Early Education and Care (EEC) state-licensed morning pre-kindergarten called "Tiny Tots" during the school year (Sept-June). It also operates two EEC certified after school day care programs (Sept-June) for the grade K1-K2 ages, and Middle School ages (6 yrs to 12 yrs). Rates are affordable and are offered on a first-come basis. EEC vouchers are accepted.
In summer, a full day program is offered for both age groups that includes indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, swimming at the nearby Flaherty Swimming Pool, and much more. Rates are affordable and are offered on a first-come basis. EEC vouchers are also accepted for the summer programs.
The Roslindale Community Center is operated by the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF), a department of the City of Boston. It is centrally located at the intersection of Cummins Highway and Washington Street in Roslindale Square Village.
The Flaherty Swimming Pool is also operated and managed by BCYF. Both are located in the southwest section of the City of Boston.
Various activities for children and adults are available across the age spectrum year-round at both facilities.
A 16-station computer lab is available at the Roslindale Community Center with access time for the child care and teen programs, and public access at published times.
The center also has community access space available for civic groups, crime watch groups, and various other community organizations and businesses. Please inquire at the center for details and usage agreements.
The Council and center are always interested in partnering with program providers. If you think you have something to offer, please contact us with your ideas.
All programming partners and volunteers must pass a Massachusetts CORI & SORI criminal background check.
